WRCOG Thanks District Attorneys for Examination of Renovate America

Riverside, CA – August 9, 2019 – WRCOG has learned that the Riverside District Attorney and Renovate America have agreed to a Stipulated Judgment resulting from a statewide examination into PACE financing and Renovate America’s HERO Program.  According to the District Attorney, their examination included Renovate America’s cooperation and was conducted over the course of nearly three years.  WRCOG wishes to express its gratitude and appreciation to the Riverside County District Attorney's office for their diligent work and extensive examination of Renovate America and the HERO Program.

WRCOG understands that the Stipulated Judgement formalizes and enhances a number of disclosure and consumer protections that Renovate America developed and voluntarily implemented during the past several years. WRCOG is just starting to review the Judgement. Once we fully understand the nature of any new provisions, we intend to meet with all of our residential PACE providers and will require them to implement any and all enhancements recommended by the District Attorney that are part of the Judgement.

As the bond issuer for PACE providers, WRCOG will continue to work with state lawmakers, consumer advocates, PACE program providers and other interested groups to further strengthen and enhance PACE as a viable and sustainable financing tool for individuals choosing to make energy efficient, water conservation or renewable energy improvements to their homes and businesses.
