For Municipalities

WREP enables jurisdictions to lead by example in reducing energy consumption, achieving cost savings, and planning for energy sustainability.

Enhanced Rebates

WREP offers a tiered system whereby jurisdictions can receive enhanced rebates from Southern California Edison (SCE) for eligible projects that achieve certain energy efficiency. Participation in WREP automatically qualifies a jurisdiction as a Valued Level Partner, and through increased energy savings and commitments, they can qualify for enhanced rebates at the Silver, Gold, and Platinum levels. Currently, the following jurisdictions have qualified for the advanced levels, thanks to their commitment to saving energy:
  • Calimesa - Platinum Level
  • Canyon Lake - Gold Level
  • Corona - Gold Level
  • Eastvale - Gold Level
  • Hemet - Gold Level
  • Lake Elsinore - Silver Level
  • Menifee - Valued Level
  • Moreno Valley - Gold Level
  • Murrieta - Valued Level
  • Norco - Gold Level
  • Perris - Platinum Level
  • San Jacinto - Silver Level
  • Temecula - Platinum Level
  • Wildomar - Silver Level

Municipal Assistance

SCE offers services to WREP participants such as enhanced incentives for energy efficiency retrofits, audits and technical assistance, energy action and strategic plan support, and educational training. Resources for jurisdictions:

Retrofitting & Retro-Commissioning Incentives

SCE offers cash rebates and incentives to municipalities for the installation of energy efficient equipment such as lighting, HVAC, and water pumping upgrades in municipal facilities. WREP helps jurisdictions identify and develop potential projects that range from simple, low-cost strategies to comprehensive upgrades and retro-commissioning.

Free Energy Efficiency Audits

WREP municipalities can request a free comprehensive audit of their facilities by SCE staff or a qualified consultant. Audit reports will contain technical and financial analysis of the projects identified. To learn more or to schedule an audit, please contact Tyler Masters.
